^̣^̣> coyote talk

Listen people!

kaa kuʔúsuʔ ʔiceyéeye hitéw’yelece haʔátsanki,
(and..thus..coyote..announced..he went out)

koná hityóokca,
(then..calls in loud voice)

“weyemic’íitx titóoqan! ...”
(listen!...people)

Coyote went out and announced in a loud voice, “Listen people! ...”

This is found in the mythic narrative Bobcat and Pine Squirrel’s Daughter (see Nez Perce Oral Narratives, Aoki & Walker 1984). Notice the directive weyemic’íitx is a single utterance as found in the original. In regular speech this utterance is actually a two part form: particle + verb.

weye mic’íitx!
(now, at this time..listen!)

This is a minor issue of representation.
